A six-week practical introduction to the Christian Faith takes place
here at the chapel on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 several
times throughout the year. Each evening includes a video presentation
followed by small group discussion. The VISTA course is for anyone who
is interested in knowing more about the Christian Faith. Participants
in the course will range from Christians who would like to brush up on
the evidence supporting their faith to new believers and seekers who
would like to learn more about Christianity. The philosophy of the
course is to provide, in a low-key manner, a sound basis for a
decision to accept the faith. Individuals are encouraged to ask any
question and there is no pressure to make any decision, though the
opportunity will be present.
The VISTA course will cover the following topics:
- Christianity; Boring, Untrue and Irrelevant?
- Who is Jesus?
- Why did Jesus die?
- How and why should I read the Bible?
- Why and how should I pray?
- Who is the Holy Spirit?
Suggested optional reading materials:
- Questions of Life? - Nicky Gumbel
- Searching Issues - Nicky Gumbel
- The Case Against Christ - John Young
- The Holy Spirit - Billy Graham
Please call the Chapel at 908-232-3456 to find out when the next VISTA
course will be taking place or see our calendar of upcoming events.
We would like to hear from you if you plan to attend, but registration
is not necessary.
